چکیده
Abstract Boron is an essential micronutrient that has raised much interest, given the narrow balance between its necessity and toxicity. Both natural anthropogenic emissions of boron into water sources can eventually deteriorate quality endanger ecosystem. In this review, we first present a general outline importance boron, chemistry in water, contamination, consequences followed by recent progress removal methods based on adsorption. The adsorbents for deboronation generally be classified functional groups present; chelating groups, metal oxides, layered double hydroxides. To comprehensively address these adsorption methods, detailed discussion reaction mechanism each system done summary field during past 5 years. Finally, some characterization techniques used studies suggestions future research applications together with possible improvements to existing systems are presented. Graphical abstract

Removal of Boron from Produced Water by Co-precipitation / Adsorption for Reverse Osmosis Concentrate
Co-precipitation and absorption methods were investigated for removal of boron from produced water, which is groundwater brought to the surface during oil and natural gas extraction. Boron can be toxic to many crops and often needs to be controlled to low levels in irrigation water. The present research focused on synthetic reverse osmosis (RO) concentrate modeled on concentrate expected from a...
متن کاملRemoval of cesium through adsorption from aqueous solutions: a systematic review
Cesium radioactive isotopes (134Cs and 137Cs) are dangerous to human health due to their long half-life and high solubility in water. Nuclear experiments, wars, and nuclear plant accidents have been the main sources of Cs release into the environment. In recent years, several methods have been introduced for the elimination of Cs radioactive isotopes from contaminated wate...
متن کاملBiological nitrate removal processes from drinking water supply-a review
This paper reviews both heterotrophic and autotrophic processes for the removal of nitrate from water supplies. The most commonly used carbon sources in heterotrophic denitrification are methanol, ethanol and acetic acid. Process performance for each feed stock is compared with particular reference nitrate and nitrite residual and to toxicity potential. Autotrophic nitrate removal has the advan...

Background & Aims of the Study: A high nitrate and arsenic concentration in water resources represent a potential risk to the environment and public health. The present work improved a chemo-physically modified activated carbon derived from walnut shells as an adsorbent to improve nitrate and arsenic removal ability from water. Materials & ...
متن کامل"comparison of nanofiltration and gac adsorption processes for chloroform removal from drinking water"
in this research, the chloroform (chcl3) removal effectiveness of two water treatment systems including membrane technology and granular activated carbon (gac) adsorption were studied. two bench-scales were designed and set up: 1) nanofiltration (nf) spiral-wound modules and 2) gac adsorption column. chloroform was considered as trihalomethanes (thms) basic indicator compound. the inlet and out...
